About ELMAKO
ELMAKO GmbH & Co. KG, based in Iffezheim (Baden-Württemberg), develops and manufactures the medical device CRYOLIGHT®, a device for neuroreflexive hyperbaric CO₂ cryotherapy (cryoshock therapy). Medical CO₂ gas is directed onto the skin via a nozzle at −78 °C and 0.3 bar, cooling the treated area to 0–4 °C within seconds. The effects are pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, decongestant, and muscle-relaxing. The patented device features a temperature sensor with automatic shut-off for protection against skin necrosis, battery operation, a color display, and a portable unit with a net weight of 12 kg. CRYOLIGHT® is used in doctor's offices, physiotherapy practices, clinics, and rehabilitation facilities, primarily in sports medicine, orthopedics, accident surgery, dermatology, dentistry, and pain therapy. ELMAKO offers consultation, demonstrations, a two-week free trial, as well as instruction, and sells or rents the devices.
