About ELMESS
ELMESS has been developing and manufacturing electric heating systems and process heaters at its Uelzen site since 1945. The product range includes electric heaters, explosion-proof electric heaters for ATEX zones, immersion heaters, gas preheaters, Power-to-Heat systems as well as temperature controllers, temperature limiters and controls for industrial heating. Alongside manufacturing, the company supports customers from planning and consulting through installation to service, repair and spare parts supply, documenting the entire work process in full. The heating technology is used mainly in industrial process applications, particularly in explosive environments, the process industry as well as hydrogen and energy technology. Electric heaters operated with electricity from renewable sources help reduce CO2 emissions in the process industry. Since 2022, ELMESS has been part of the NIBE Group; in 2022 the first prototype of an ecological thermal battery was also developed.

Founding of ELMESS; founder Herbert Schweda developed the first explosion-proof electric heater in cooperation with the PTB.
