About Emil Motors
Emil Motors GmbH develops rare-earth-free traction motors for electric vehicles. The company, founded in 2023 by Maximilian Güttinger and based in Hersbruck (Bavaria), combines axial flux geometry with induction motor technology, which operates without permanent magnets. The architecture, known as SAM (Segmented Axial Flux Asynchronous Motor), uses a segmented stator with distributed windings, integrated oil cooling with direct copper-oil contact, and a fully automated winding process. The twin rotor with reinforced design enables speeds of up to 16,000 rpm; aluminum rotor systems reduce material costs, and high conductor cross-sections achieve an efficiency of over 97%. The flagship SAM-M240 delivers 330 kW of shaft power and 450 Nm of peak torque at 35 kg of active motor weight. Emil Motors positions itself as a drop-in alternative to permanent magnet machines for the e-mobility market.
