About EMPL Fahrzeugwerk
EMPL Fahrzeugwerk GmbH has been producing custom truck bodies and trailers since 1948 in the areas of fire services, commercial vehicles and Defence & Authorities. Every vehicle is individually tailored to the customer's requirements, the market and its intended use, and is manufactured in single-unit, small and large series; delivery as CKD and SKD kits is possible. The value chain includes machining, sheet metal working, laser and autogenous plasma cutting, welding as well as sandblasting and painting. In terms of materials, steel, stainless steel, aluminium and high-strength fine-grain structural steels are used. Beyond vehicle manufacturing, EMPL acts as a general contractor and system integrator with engineering services, and offers parts production, vehicle refurbishments, service and training. The production sites are located in Kaltenbach, Uderns and Hall (Austria) and Zahna-Elster (Germany); the employer has a total workforce of around 624 employees.

Quality & Testing
The operational organisation is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015; both plants hold the welding certification ISO 3834-2, and the Elster plant additionally holds ISO 2303 for defence technology products. No vehicle leaves the plant without a detailed inspection and extensive tests on its own truck test track, tilting platform, pump test bench and in crash tests.
