About Emqopter
Emqopter GmbH was founded in 2016 as a spin-off of the Chair of Aerospace Information Technology at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, after the core team developed an autonomously navigating quadcopter in the AQopterI8 project. The Würzburg-based company focuses on automation technologies for aerial robots in industrial environments and sees itself not as a classic drone manufacturer but as a technology integrator: it provides the sensors (the “senses”), the flight control (the “brain”) and the software that brings everything together. The portfolio includes fully autonomous octocopter delivery drones for transporting small parts up to 2 kg with patent-pending sensor technology, the Quadrotor Control System (QCS) as a training and research system, the Collision Avoidance Assistant for collision avoidance via sensor fusion, and the Quanipulator, a drone with a gripper arm for indoor applications. The offering is complemented by the intralogistics components EMQBox and EMQBot as well as construction progress monitoring by UAV with 3D/4K camera and LiDAR. The delivery drone operates on fixed routes in urban, unregulated airspace in Germany.
