About EMU Electronic
EMU Electronic AG is a Swiss manufacturer of energy metering and energy management systems. Founded in 1989 as a spin-off of Landis & Gyr in Baar ZG, the company developed the EMU1 in 1990, the world's first digital electricity meter. The portfolio includes 1- and 3-phase energy meters for DIN rails (EMU Professional II, EMU Allrounder, EMU 12, EMU 1/40) with interfaces such as M-Bus, Modbus, TCP/IP, KNX, LON and LoRa, M-Bus data loggers (EMU M-Center), current transformers, voltage taps, the socket meter EMU Check and the web-based energy management software Joulio-Web in accordance with ISO 50001. Value creation takes place in Switzerland: PCB assembly is carried out 16 km from the plant, while assembly, calibration, testing and customer-specific configuration take place at the Baar plant; since 2020, additional production lines with a capacity of around 150,000 electricity meters per year have been available. Products are MID B+D certified, some also PTB-A 50.7 and METAS. Customers come from real estate management, industry and healthcare; EMU Metering GmbH handles distribution in Germany.
