About ENERCON
ENERCON is a pioneer of wind energy technology headquartered in Aurich and develops, produces, sells and services onshore wind energy turbines. The product portfolio comprises four turbine models on the EP5 and EP3 platforms with rated capacities of 4.26 to 7 MW and rotor diameters of up to 175 m, including the E-175 EP5, E-160 EP5 and E-138 EP3. All turbines are based on a gearless direct drive with synchronous generator (PMG or separately excited technology) and the modular E-nacelle as the machine house. For its main components, ENERCON operates its own production sites: Mechanic Anlagenbau in Aurich (rotor hub, machine house), wind generator production in Magdeburg (generator) and rotor blade production in Viana do Castelo (Portugal) and Izmir (Turkey); in addition, the company works with partners in China, India and Turkey. Towers are offered as steel, concrete or hybrid towers. In addition to turbine manufacturing, ENERCON offers maintenance and servicing, 24/7 remote monitoring via SCADA, training, planning and construction of substations, wind and battery storage solutions, repowering as well as sales and financing. The company employs more than 13,000 people worldwide and is owned by the Aloys Wobben Foundation.
