About EnergyCO2mpany

EnergyCO2mpany GmbH & Co. KG, based in Rotenburg (Wümme), develops and sells plant technology for biomass gasification. The core product EC BioHeat uses self-sustaining pyrolysis: pellets are charred in a combustion chamber under oxygen-deficient conditions, the resulting synthesis gas is drawn into a flame tube and burned in a controlled manner at over 1000 °C. Via a downstream solid fuel boiler or an air/water heat exchanger, the plant delivers 160 kW of thermal output at a fuel throughput of 1 t of fuel per day. A by-product of around 100 kg of biochar with a carbon content of over 90 percent (96 percent for wood) is produced daily. All components are integrated into a 20-foot CSC sea container; the plant is commissioned before delivery and can be controlled via remote maintenance software. A drying system with two modules also enables volume reduction of aqueous suspensions and slurries such as liquid manure and digestion residues. Fields of application are forestry and agriculture, fruit and vegetable growing, viticulture, horticulture, industry, biogas, municipal heat supply as well as wellness and swimming pool facilities.

Fuels & Processes

PYR

Biomass gasification / self-sustaining pyrolysis

Charring of the pellets under oxygen-deficient conditions; the synthesis gas is burned in the flame tube at over 1000 °C.

HP6

Wood pellets (6 mm)

Recommended standard fuel; nevertheless the plant is insensitive to fuel qualities.

HALM

Straw/stalk material (pelletised)

Permitted under the 4th BImSchV from 100 kW up to 1 MW output.

BIOK

Biochar (by-product)

With over 90 % carbon content, approx. 200 m²/g surface area and 150 % water-holding capacity, usable as a nutrient store or filter.

TROCK

Drying of aqueous suspensions

Two modules reduce the volume of liquid manure, digestion residues and slurries using waste heat.

History

  1. 2016

Development of a drying system for agricultural waste and slurries; supported in the CE documentation by the Transferzentrum Elbe-Weser (TZEW) and the IHK Stade.

  2. 2018

Market launch of the EC BioHeat biomass gasification plant technology (price 96,000 € gross in container); the technology is based on the invention of Harmannus Tapken from Bösel.
