About ENERGYNEST

ENERGYNEST develops and delivers integrated Power-to-Heat systems with thermal energy storage for industry. At the core of the systems is the patented ThermalBattery™ – a modular high-temperature thermal storage unit based on HEATCRETE®, a specialty concrete developed jointly with Heidelberg Materials, into which U-shaped steel tubes are embedded as heat exchangers. The modules are manufactured in 20-foot ISO container formats with up to 2 MWh_th; system sizes typically range from 5 MWh to 1,000 MWh. Heat transfer is via thermal oil or water/steam, and the storage systems operate with charging temperatures of 250–390 °C and discharge temperatures of 120–300 °C at pressures of up to over 100 bar. In addition to module manufacturing (including at the manufacturing center in Rotterdam, together with HeidelbergCement/Mebin), ENERGYNEST supplies complete systems with electric boilers, steam generators, balance-of-plant components and control systems – either as a turnkey EPC project or as Heat-as-a-Service without CAPEX. Customers come from energy-intensive industries such as chemicals, cement, paper, food, packaging and steel, as well as from solar thermal projects (CST). With customers such as tesa, LEONHARD KURZ, Peter Greven, Yara, Avery Dennison, Eni and Masdar, systems are in operation in Europe and the Middle East.
