Engineering Service Schmücker (ESS) is an engineering consultancy founded in 2012 by Dipl.-Ing. Guido A. Schmücker, based in Jenins (Switzerland) and active in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Its fields of business are blasting-related planning, consulting and profitability calculations for mining, tunnelling and the quarrying industry as well as construction sites and demolition work, including expert reports, immission forecasts, blasting notifications under the 3. SprengV and support of approval and tendering procedures. ESS rents and sells DIN 45669 compliant vibration measuring devices (including MENHIR units of the SEMEX-Engcon GmbH and devices from Syscom Instruments SA) and operates its own fleet of 88 measuring devices. Measurements are carried out according to DIN 4150, including expert evaluation via the cloud-based software SEDRIX, whose development ESS substantially initiated and supported. In addition, ESS performs immission-related monitoring in blasting and construction as well as in demolition work and noise immissions. The founder and managing director has been a publicly appointed and sworn expert for blasting technology and immission assessment for above-ground and underground rock blasting at the IHK Köln since 2000. Project customers include EnBW, illwerke vkw AG, Max Bögl Wind AG, Südwestrundfunk, Schleith GmbH and Wilhelm Bohnert GmbH & Co. KG.
