About ENTAVA
ENTAVA GmbH (until 2022 INOVA Protein GmbH) is an AgriTech company from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that emerged from the environment of the University of Rostock. The company breeds the yellow mealworm (Tenebrio molitor) in a 720 m² production facility in Roggentin and processes it automatically into high-quality protein meal. This serves as a raw material for downstream industries in the fields of human nutrition and medical animal nutrition. In addition to protein meal, the portfolio includes live mealworms and Zophobas, dried insects and insect mix, insect purée in cans, as well as the by-products organic insect fertiliser (end substrate) and chitin-containing beetle shells as a raw material for chitin/chitosan. Together with the University of Rostock, a proprietary feed mixture was developed, and an innovative breeding strategy increases the fitness of the insects. Customers include Zoo Rostock, Tropenhaus Bansin, Vogelgarten, Vogelpark Marlow and STAEMMLER Kompost und Erden.
