erixx GmbH is a private railway company headquartered in Celle that operates regional rail passenger transport (SPNV) in Lower Saxony. Founded in 2011 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen AG (OHE AG), the company has operated the Diesel Network Lower Saxony South-East (DINSO II) since December 2014, covering around 350 route kilometres with the lines RE10 Hanover–Hildesheim–Bad Harzburg, RB42/43 Bad Harzburg/Goslar–Braunschweig, RB47 Uelzen–Gifhorn–Braunschweig and RB32 Lüneburg–Dannenberg. The service uses 28 diesel railcars of the Alstom Coradia LINT 54 type (series 622) as low-floor vehicles with up to 180 seats per car. The contracting authorities are the State Transport Company of Lower Saxony (LNVG), the Hannover Region and the Braunschweig Regional Transport Association (ZGB); the contract runs until 2029. erixx GmbH is a member of the NETINERA Group and is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001; the certified scope covers regional rail passenger transport with diesel railcars as well as operational vehicle maintenance in company-owned workshops. Services include, in addition to railway operations, customer service, lost property office, ticket sales and passenger information.

History

1. 2011

   Founded on 18.04.2011 as Heidekreuzbahn GmbH/erixx GmbH in Celle; launch of Heidekreuz operations in December 2011.

2. 2013

   Won the DINSO II network (Diesel Network Lower Saxony South-East) in a tendering process.

3. 2014

   Launch of DINSO II network operations (RE10, RB32, RB42/43, RB47) on 14.12.2014 with 28 Coradia LINT 54, contract term until 2029.

4. 2021

   End of Heidekreuz operations; the sister company erixx Holstein GmbH takes over the battery-operated network in Schleswig-Holstein.

5. 2025

   Initial ISO 9001 certification and renewal of the ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certificates on 13.08.2025.
