About Ermafa Environmental Technologies
Ermafa Environmental Technologies GmbH (EET), based in Vienna, develops environmental technologies based on plasma processes. The core product is PlasmaSun, a DC plasma system with plasma torches that enables methane plasmalysis for clean hydrogen production as well as waste pyrolysis for converting mixed waste into synthesis gas (H2 + CO) and Carbon Black at temperatures exceeding 3,000 K. With Plasma Kiln, EET converts existing tunnel furnaces and batch furnaces from natural gas burners to plasma burners to reduce CO2 emissions in the cement, steel, and chemical industries. For the shipping industry, the company offers plasma pyrolysis for onboard waste treatment as well as retrofit of existing ship waste incineration plants for flue gas cleaning in partnership with Ocean Clean (Kloska Group). Further business areas include RedRec recycling of bauxite residues (red mud) from aluminum production and modular, design-oriented construction methods. Development is carried out in close collaboration with independent research institutions through the company's own Task Force EET science lab.

Technologies & Processes
DC Plasma System (PlasmaSun)
Higher energy efficiency and plasma density than AC or high-frequency systems; used for methane splitting and waste pyrolysis.
Plasma Kiln (Plasma Burner)
Retrofitting stationary tunnel furnaces and non-stationary batch furnaces from natural gas to plasma burners for CO2 reduction.
Plasma Pyrolysis (>3,000 K)
Thermal decomposition without oxidation: organic substances are decomposed into synthesis gas (H2 + CO), inorganic ones into inert slag.
RedRec (Bauxite Residue)
Processing of red mud from aluminum production into secondary raw materials.
Modular Architecture
Smart, modular and design-oriented construction of the plants.
