Ernst & Engbring GmbH (E&E Cable Solutions) is a cable manufacturer headquartered in Oer-Erkenschwick, NRW, and has been developing and producing custom special cables and cable systems since 1952. The portfolio includes round and flat cables, hybrid cables, drag chain cables, miniature cables down to AWG 56 (conductor diameter 0.0124 mm), medical and robotic cables, high-voltage cables, spiral/coiled cables as well as laminated flat flexible cables made of PTFE/PUR and PTFE laminates. Materials used include copper conductors, PTFE, PUR and optical fibers; lot sizes are possible from 100 meters, and cable diameters from 0.1 to 100 mm can be produced. In addition to cable manufacturing, the company assembles cables completely with connectors, switches and sensors and supplies ready-to-install plug-and-play systems. Customer industries include medical technology, automation, mechanical and plant engineering, measurement and control technology, robotics as well as marine and offshore. More than 300 employees produce at four ISO 9001-certified sites in Oer-Erkenschwick, Forst and Rawicz/Sierakowo (Polen); a test and inspection laboratory tests every cable for the loads of its later application.

Quality and Certifications

An in-house test and inspection laboratory tests every cable for the loads required in its later application; production is monitored without gaps for quality across all production stages. Certifications according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and EN ISO 13485 as well as approvals such as VDE, UL, CSA and ISO 10993 (biocompatibility) complement the quality system.

Company History

1952
Foundation of Ernst & Engbring GmbH by engineer Heinrich Ernst, electrical technician Herbert and businessman Manfred Engbring; production of silk-insulated enamel wires and strands for the telephone industry.
1971
Move to Industriestrasse 9 in Oer-Erkenschwick.
1992
Start of manufacturing special cables to customer specification.
2023
70th company anniversary; opening of the fifth plant in Rawicz near Leszno, Poland, with a capacity expansion of 10,000 m².
