About Hartchrom Meuter

Ernst Meuter GmbH & Co. KG (Hartchrom Meuter) is an electroplating specialist in Solingen that has been finishing metal surfaces since 1936. The company specialises in hard chrome plating, cylindrical and stone grinding, belt polishing, superfinishing, electroless nickel plating as well as sand and glass bead blasting. Production focuses on the reconditioning of rollers, shafts, pistons and piston rods as well as hard chrome plating of moulds, dies and small parts; in addition, structured rollers and shafts are manufactured new. New and wear parts are machined in single-piece and series production. Customers include the automotive industry, the food, plastics and textile industries, the paper and packaging industry, and mechanical engineering and mining. An in-house laboratory ensures bath analysis for hard chrome plating and electroless nickel plating.

Materials and Processes

Cr

Chromium (hard chrome plating)

Chromium is deposited at the cathode in an electrolytic process and gives components hardness, wear resistance and corrosion protection.

Ni

Nickel (electroless nickel plating)

Electroless nickel plating is carried out under constant process conditions with continuous bath analysis in the in-house laboratory.

Met

Metals (base materials)

Metal surfaces of new and wear parts are machined and finished.
