About EZG Hümmling

The Erzeugergemeinschaft für Qualitätsvieh Hümmling eG is a registered cooperative based in Lorup in the Emsland region, formed in 1999 from the merger of the Raiffeisen Erzeuger- und Viehvermarktungsgenossenschaft Lorup and the Erzeugergemeinschaft für Schlachtvieh Hümmling in Sögel. Its roots go back to 1926, when farmers founded a loading association for joint livestock transports. The cooperative markets slaughter pigs, slaughter sows, piglets, slaughter cattle, calves and livestock, and negotiates independently with slaughterhouses on prices within the VEZG association. Its range of services includes classification according to FOM and AutoFOM, the prompt transmission of slaughter data, and fast, insured settlement. For species-appropriate animal transport, the EZG operates its own fleet of 25 trucks and trailers, supplemented by a truck wash facility in a heated hall. Since 2003, the cooperative has also been active as a QS aggregator; through the Hümmling and Aschendorf-Hasselbrock advisory circles, it additionally offers production-related and business-management consultancy.

Since 2003, the EZG has been active as an aggregator in the QS system, organizing registration, audit preparation, neutral inspections and salmonella monitoring for its members. Animal transports and vehicles are QS-certified.
