About Erzquell Brauerei
The Erzquell Brauerei comprises two legally independent but interconnected family breweries: the Erzquell Brauerei Bielstein Haas GmbH & Co. KG in Wiehl-Bielstein (North Rhine-Westphalia) and the Erzquell Brauerei Siegtal Haas GmbH & Co. KG in Mudersbach-Niederschelderhütte (Rhineland-Palatinate). Beers brewed include the brands Zunft Kölsch, Erzquell Pils, Bergischer Sportsfreund, Bergisches Landbier, Radler variants, Fassbrause and malt drink; for export, the black beer Erzquell Dark is additionally produced in the Siegtal. The Bielstein brewery was founded in 1900 as Adler Brauerei GmbH, and the Siegtal brewery in 1885 as Siegtal Brauerei Burgmann & Wildenberg; since 1930 there has been a majority holding of the Bielstein brewery in the Siegtal brewery. Each site employs around 50 people. The brewing water comes from the company's own springs: in Bielstein via a water pipeline with soft spring water, and in Mudersbach from a spring in the Giebelwald, which is fed into the brewing process untreated via a four-kilometre-long pipeline. The current brewhouse in Bielstein was commissioned in 1987. In addition, the company offers brewery tours and an online shop with shipping within Germany.
