ESF Elbe-Stahlwerke Feralpi GmbH (FERALPI STAHL) has continued the steel tradition in Riesa since 1992 as part of the international Feralpi Group. The company operates an integrated secondary route steel mill with an electric arc furnace, where billets are produced from steel scrap with a recycling rate of over 98 percent. In two rolling mills, the billets are further processed into wire rod and concrete reinforcement in bars and rings; in the wire drawing works, refined products such as concrete reinforcement meshes (standard and special meshes), spacers, and special components are created. With around 900 employees, FERALPI STAHL produces approximately 1 million tons of steel products per year, supplying the construction and infrastructure market. Cooperation extends to 24 countries; modern plants and resource-saving processes ensure quality, efficiency, and a low ecological footprint.
