About ESO

ESO Elektronische Stromoptimierung is a family-owned company based in Bruchsal, specializing in electronic power and grid optimization for industry, commerce and SMEs. The core product is the ESO system, an active, dynamic, semiconductor-controlled, stepless electronic optimization system for inductive and capacitive loads. It adapts to the power grid in real time, corrects the power factor to nearly cos φ = 1, compensates harmonics, balances phase unbalance and filters interference pulses. As a result, electricity consumption falls by up to 15 percent depending on the load profile, while grid quality improves and machine service life is extended. The system is modular and decentralized in design, can be expanded, and is installed in parallel with ongoing operations by local certified electricians. Target customers are companies with an annual consumption of around 100,000 kWh or more, including from manufacturing and processing, hotels and gastronomy, agriculture, car washes and the leisure industry. ESO supports customers from consumption analysis through BAFA subsidy application processing to installation, and offers leasing and financing models.

Technology and Operating Principle

ESO

Active, dynamic, semiconductor-controlled power and grid optimization system

Stepless electronic optimization in real time for inductive and capacitive loads with self-commutated power section and dedicated computing unit.

LFR

Real-time power factor correction

Dynamic correction of the power factor to nearly cos φ = 1 to reduce grid losses.

OSK

Harmonic compensation

Smooths harmonic distortions caused by non-linear loads and stabilizes the power supply.

SLA

Phase unbalance balancing

Balances imbalances between phases L1, L2 and L3 in the three-phase grid.

TRF

Filtering of interference pulses and transients

Protects sensitive electronics against switching and lightning impulses and stabilizes the grid voltage.
