About Europrop International
Europrop International GmbH (EPI) is a consortium of the European engine manufacturers MTU Aero Engines, Safran Aircraft Engines, Rolls-Royce and ITP Aero, founded in 2002 as a company under German law. EPI is responsible for the design, development, sales, manufacture and support of the TP400-D6 turboprop engine, which powers the Airbus A400M military transporter built by Airbus Defence and Space. The engine delivers 11,000 shp (approximately 8,200 kW), uses a three-shaft design with modular construction and a dual FADEC control system. Final engine assembly takes place at the headquarters in Munich; the engine is then delivered to Airbus Defence and Space in Seville. Around 2,500 people in Europe are involved in the TP400-D6 programme, which has accumulated over 100,000 engine operating hours (as of July 2017). EPI also operates a worldwide support and maintenance network including Operator Bases and training offerings.
