Exclaim Robotics GmbH is a startup founded in 2026 in Zurich that develops autonomous robots for the maintenance of AI data centers. The focus is on tasks that require dexterity and precision: cleaning and replacing optics modules, reconnecting copper cabling, and precisely reinserting drives into live racks carrying 800 volts DC. Routine rack maintenance is to be performed entirely by robots, enabling the data center hall to be operated unmanned. The company pursues an autonomy-first approach: trained skills are executed precisely, reliably and repeatably; at low confidence, the robot requests teleoperation as a fallback rather than risking critical incidents. In addition to safety, the approach promises higher operating temperatures in the hall, lower cooling costs, fewer maintenance windows planned around downtime, and a smaller physical attack surface. In the long term, robots are also intended to maintain other hazardous, remote or hard-to-access infrastructure. The team brings experience from ETH Zurich, NVIDIA, Skydio and Meta; a previous collaboration was with an internal team at Microsoft.
