About Exipnos
Exipnos GmbH, headquartered in Merseburg, develops and produces custom plastic compounds for applications ranging from the automotive industry to mechanical engineering, construction, the food and packaging sectors, and the furniture and toy industries. The product range includes compounds based on polypropylene (PP), ABS, PC/ABS and polycarbonate, as well as the growing BioCelain® product family of bio-based, biodegradable PBS plastics for injection molding, extrusion, deep drawing, blow molding and 3D printing. Production on 1,600 sqm of production and warehouse space is based on two twin-screw extruders with gravimetric dosing, a separate system for test and trial runs, and the company's own production-ready direct compounding system DCIM (CDS), which combines compounding and injection molding in a single step and cuts energy consumption by about half. In addition to compounds, Exipnos offers color matching for compounds and masterbatches (CMB) from 25 kg in its own color laboratory. The family-owned company with 15 employees is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 as a listed supplier to German automotive manufacturers and coordinates the €17 million joint project RUBIO on bio-based PBS.
