About Explorer Coffee

Explorer Coffee (Kaffeerösterei Schubert) is a sole proprietorship based in Winnenden near Stuttgart and operates a coffee roastery with an attached coffee house. The roastery processes Arabica and Robusta green beans from responsibly managed cultivation in countries such as Colombia, Guatemala, India, Ethiopia and Brazil. All coffees are gently and time-intensively roasted in the traditional drum roasting process at a maximum of 190 degrees; a dedicated roasting profile is developed for each origin, varieties are roasted individually and blends are mixed only after roasting. The processing of the green beans is done per coffee by wet processing, natural drying or honey process; the green beans are sorted over perforated screens and visually inspected. The range includes espresso, specialties, flavored coffees, blends, rarities, organic and decaffeinated coffees as well as tasting packages, complemented by individual grind size per brewing method, aroma-sealed packaging, an online shop with shipping, and the sale of Moccamaster coffee machines. In Winnenden, the company also offers roasting demonstrations with tasting.
