About Extreme Coatings
Extreme Coatings GmbH coats complex industrial components using thermal HVOF spray technology and protects them against mechanical wear and corrosion. The focus is on injection moulding and extruder screws, twin screws, as well as rotors and Continuous Mixing Rotors for plastics processing, compounding and the gas and oil industry. Specially developed powder formulations such as CarbideX C1000 and CarbideX CPR are used, based on hard carbides (tungsten carbide), ceramics and other alloys. The coatings achieve a hardness of 62–72 HRC, a density of 98% and are crack-free; layer thicknesses of 0.08 to 1 mm are possible. After coating, high-gloss polishing achieves a surface quality of Ra 0.1 to 0.4 µm. In addition, the company offers stripping, repair and recoating of rotors, making multiple overhauls possible.

Materials & Processes
HVOF thermal spray process
Thermal spray process for applying dense, crack-free protective layers to complex industrial components.
CarbideX C1000
Powder formulation with a high tungsten carbide content as a chromium replacement, e.g. for injection moulding screws and Continuous Mixing Rotors.
CarbideX CPR
Powder formulation with improved protection against abrasion and corrosion, also in chloride-containing environments.
Tungsten carbide
Hard carbide component of the coating powders for high wear protection against abrasive fillers.
Hard carbide
Component of the self-developed powder formulations depending on the application.
