About us

EZM Profilbearbeitung GmbH at its Rohr site in Thuringia manufactures heavy linear guide rails for the machine tool and mechanical engineering industries through a combination of planing and milling processes. This process combination is considered a cost-effective and high-quality alternative to traditional manufacturing technology from hot rolling followed by cold drawing; the rails are planed stress-free, since forming is dispensed with. The company machines steel and stainless steel according to customers' drawing specifications and achieves longitudinal roughness of Ra 1.0 µm and bar length tolerances of ±0.05 mm. Services include planing, pre-milling of profiles and square sections, annealing (GKZ) and stress relieving, straightening with press forces of 75–140 t, as well as shot blasting and packaging with corrosion protection. Manufacturing takes place exclusively in Germany; customers include all major European manufacturers of linear guides. The company employs around 30 staff and belongs to the EZM Group.
