About Original Steifensand
F.-Martin Steifensand Büromöbel GmbH is an owner-managed manufacturer of ergonomic seating furniture based in Freystadt (Bavaria). Founded at the end of the 1960s by its namesake F.-Martin Steifensand, the company became known nationwide with the invention of the spinal disc chair. The product range includes office chairs, stools and standing aids, lounge furniture and contract furniture, including product families such as MONICO, ESERIO, ceto, ceto novo, seno and piro. Production is carried out by hand on a 17,000 m² factory site with its own upholstery workshop and in-house test rig. Around 90 percent of components come from German production, about 75 percent from suppliers within a 50 km radius. Planning, production and logistics are handled from a single source, supported by an almost just-in-time production logistics system and an own fleet of vehicles.
