About HEMPEL Legierungsmetall
F. W. Hempel Legierungsmetall GmbH is a non-ferrous metals company founded in 1966 with its production site in Oberhausen. Its core business is ingot production: the company melts pre-materials and scrap in rotary drum and induction crucible furnaces and produces copper casting alloys to the material standards of its customers. The cast ingots, format 360 x 90 x 60 mm with a unit weight of 10–13 kg, are delivered on Euro exchange pallets up to a maximum net weight of 1200 kg; every delivery comes with a works inspection certificate. Further business areas are the recycling of lead-acid and Ni/Cd batteries via an approved waste intermediate storage facility as well as non-ferrous metal trading, which accepts, sorts and processes metal scrap around copper, brass and aluminium for environmentally sound recovery. Customers are renowned copper alloy foundries in Germany and Europe. The company is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and recognised as a certified waste management specialist company under § 56 KrWG.
