The modular machine system comprises the FZP, FZU and FZG series – from compact monoblock machines such as the FZU22 to the gantry-over type large machine FZG with X travel up to 60,000 mm. The 5-axis machines are designed for the simultaneous machining of aluminium, steel, titanium, ureol, plastics, wood and fibre-reinforced composites (CFRP). The thermally symmetric, centre-driven gantry design ensures high positioning accuracy according to ISO 230-2 or VDI/DGQ 3441. Zimmermann serves customers in aerospace, defence technology, the automotive industry, model and mould making, toolmaking, shipbuilding and alternative energies. The company is increasingly integrating digital technologies such as condition monitoring with up to 50 sensors per machine, AI-supported data analysis, digital twins and cyber resilience (security by design) in line with the Cyber Resilience Act. The machines are tested according to VDI/DGQ 3441 or ISO 230-2; positioning accuracies range from ≤5–10 µm depending on the series, with thermal stability according to ISO 230-3.
