About the specialist circle
The Fachkreis Historische Uhren Schloss Raesfeld e.V. was founded in April 1996 by participants of a certificate seminar series at the European Centre for Monument Conservation at Schloss Raesfeld. The master clockmakers and specialists organised in the association are dedicated to the preservation of historic clocks as cultural heritage. The focus lies on professional exchange, the transmission of traditional working techniques and the practical restoration of sophisticated timepieces. In addition, the specialist circle offers age determination of clocks as well as consulting. The members work for private collectors, institutions and museums; projects include, among others, work for the State Museum 'Peterhof' in St. Petersburg and for the Palace Museum of the Maharaja of Jodhpur in India.
