About us
fagusnoir AG was founded in 2022 in Biel and has been operating as a public limited company since 2024. Its origin was a research project with refined beech wood, which shaped the name: fagus sylvatica (beech) and noir for the dark colouring. The company offers classic carpentry and joinery work, including complete interior fittings, roof renovations, door and window installation as well as acoustic ceilings. Custom solid wood furniture is designed and manufactured in-house; in addition, fagusnoir installs kitchens for bulthaup Schweiz and, as a partner joinery of Thut Schweiz, offers customised storage solutions. Graduated timber engineers and designers take on project and construction management as well as planning work. The company is also engaged in wood research in collaboration with the Bern University of Applied Sciences, aiming to upgrade domestic beech wood through refinement. Since summer 2026, fagusnoir has been a training company.
