About LUEG
The Fahrzeug-Werke LUEG AG was founded in 1868 in Bochum as a carriage factory and today, with around 3,000 employees across nine companies, is one of Germany's largest mobility providers. The family-owned business combines two business fields: vehicle sales and service for passenger cars and commercial vehicles of the brands Mercedes-Benz, AMG, smart, Volvo and Ferrari, as well as vehicle manufacturing and conversions. In vehicle manufacturing, the subsidiary WAS specializes in ambulances and special-purpose vehicles, while the GEWA-Karosserie- und Fahrzeugbau-GmbH focuses on custom commercial vehicle conversions and special superstructures. At the Bernsdorf site, LUEG, as a DEKRA-certified waste management specialist, prepares lithium-ion batteries for recycling, including deep discharge, disassembly, sorting and testing. Additional services include fleet management (Mobexo), insurance consulting (LUEG Assekuranz), rental cars, financing and parts distribution. Locations are situated in North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony and, since 2019, in Central Switzerland/Mittelland.
