About Haus Westhemmerde

Haus Westhemmerde is an agricultural estate of the Schulte family on the edge of the Hellweg in Unna. The property goes back to a moated castle built in the 15th century and has been owned by the Schulte family for three generations. Conventional agriculture is practised at the Unna-Westhemmerde and Wickede-Echthausen sites; for several decades, the cultivation of special crops such as asparagus and strawberries has been an integral part of the operation. In addition, potatoes, red rhubarb and Christmas trees are produced. The farm shop in Unna also offers own creations such as preserved goods, game from the family's own hunting, eggs, poultry, honey as well as firewood and regional products. The products are part of the QS inspection scheme for food, which covers the entire food chain from production to the shop counter with documented traceability and hygiene requirements.
