About Fanta & Dressler

Fanta & Dressler GmbH is a hardwood sawmill founded in 1918 and today run by the fourth generation, located in Haldensleben in the wooded heart of Saxony-Anhalt. Around 13,000 to 15,000 solid cubic metres of high-quality German hardwood logs are processed annually on a band saw line, predominantly oak, beech and ash; logs can be cut in almost any diameter and length to nearly any dimension. The service portfolio includes cut-to-size timber in all dimensions and thicknesses, debarking of logs, contract sawing, steamed, kiln-dried and air-dried boules as well as parquet timber, sleeper and squared timbers, battens, strips, construction timber cut to list and firewood. The raw timber requirement is sourced from certified forests of the surrounding state forestry operations and through long-standing supplier relationships across Germany, enabling reliable and short-notice supply. In recent years the mid-sized company has continuously invested in processing and refinement, including an automated log yard and several steaming and drying chambers.
