About FAT

FAT Förder- und Anlagentechnik GmbH is a medium-sized, owner-managed plant engineering company founded in 1973 and based in Niederfischbach near Siegen. The company realizes turn-key complete solutions in its two business divisions, foundry technology and bulk materials technology for power plant and industrial installations. Foundry technology focuses on plants for cold resin-bonded molding materials (Furan, Cold-Box, Pep-Set, Croning, Alpha-Set), including continuous mixers, pneumatic and mechanical conveying systems, mechanical and thermal reclamation, CR separation and silo systems. In bulk materials technology, solutions are developed for ash, waste incineration materials and other bulk goods; pressure vessels and accessories are manufactured in-house in accordance with 97/23/EC (H!). The value chain covers engineering, manufacturing, control panel construction, installation, commissioning as well as service and spare parts management from a single source. An in-house test plant for thermal reclamation with 0.5 t/h capacity is available at the site for customer trials. Customers come from industries such as foundry, combustion plants, building materials, glass, coking, steel, cement, chemicals and automotive; the company delivers worldwide.

Molding materials and processes

Furan

Cold resin sand (Furan)

Organically bonded molding material for mechanical and thermal reclamation of foundry sand.

Cold-Box

Cold resin sand (Cold-Box)

Molding material system for which FAT realizes reclamation and circulation systems.

Pep-Set

Cold resin sand (Pep-Set)

Molding material system within the range of cold resin-bonded plant solutions.

Croning

Cold resin sand (Croning)

Molding material system that can be thermally reclaimed.

Alpha-Set

Cold resin sand (Alpha-Set)

Molding material system for reclamation and circulation.

Quarz

Silica sand

Base molding material; from 573°C (quartz transition), thermal reclamation facilitates binder burnout.

Therm. Reg.

Thermal reclamation

Porous burner system with fluidized bed for burnout of organic binders with heat recovery.

Mech. Reg.

Mechanical reclamation

Processing of foundry sand for circulation within foundry operations.

Pneum. Förd.

Pneumatic conveying

In-house manufacturing of systems and components for bulk material transport.
