About fdu
fdu GmbH & Co. KG manufactures filigree slabs, filigree walls, thermal walls, hollow-core slabs and individual concrete precast parts such as staircases, balconies, landings and knee walls made of reinforced concrete. Production in around 30 plants is automated but individually adapted for each order – the company speaks of automated individual production, in which nearly every product is a unique piece. Time-intensive work is carried out in the plant independently of the weather, thereby reducing overall construction time with high dimensional accuracy. As additional services, electrical installations and integrated basement windows are installed at the factory. The company originated in the 1980s with its first concrete plant in Bad Laer and today employs around 750 staff with annual revenue of approx. €200 million. The headquarters are located in Georgsmarienhütte near Osnabrück; deliveries are made nationwide as well as to Luxembourg and France.

Materials and Processes
Reinforced concrete
Base material for filigree slabs, filigree walls and concrete precast parts, supplemented with in-situ concrete on the construction site.
Reinforcing steel/lattice girders
Reinforcement and lattice girders connect the two precast panels in filigree walls.
Insulation material (core insulation)
In thermal walls, core insulation of 4 to 20 cm installed at the factory.
