Precision-mechanical manufactory from Saxony
Feingerätebau K. Fischer GmbH manufactures precision-mechanical measuring instruments for weather and climate in Drebach in the Erzgebirge. Founded in 1945 by Kurt Fischer, the company produces exclusively at its site in Saxony and develops and assembles analogue barometers, hygrometers, thermometers, climate meters, weather stations, sauna instruments, clocks and barographs. Production is carried out by hand in workshops with decades of expertise; materials used include brass, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, wood and plastic. Technical core components are the patented 6-part aneroid barometer movement as well as barographs with a 7-fold copper-beryllium alloy diaphragm capsule stack. The instruments are used for indoor climate, sauna, gastronomy and wine cellars as well as for outdoor, high-seas and water sports applications; since 2012 the mechanical LUFFT measuring instruments have also been manufactured. The company distributes worldwide via dealers, online shop and direct sales.

Materials and metrology
Brass
Material for housings and measuring parts of the precision-mechanical instruments, also available chrome-plated.
Stainless steel
For indoor and outdoor housings, among others for thermo-hygrometers and sauna instruments.
Aluminium
Material for housings and instrument components.
Copper
Used among others for outdoor weather stations and instrument housings.
Copper-beryllium alloy
Diaphragm capsule stack of the barographs; its high elastic properties make it suitable for pressure measurement.
Wood
Housing material for weather stations and barographs in various veneer and colour variants.
Plastic
Material for instrument housings, e.g. sauna instruments and hygrometers.
