Fertighaus WEISS GmbH is a family-owned company in its fourth and fifth generation, headquartered in Oberrot-Scheuerhalden in the Swabian-Franconian Forest. From a carpentry business founded by Josef Weiss in 1881, a mid-sized prefab house provider has emerged that manufactures individual architect-designed houses in prefabricated timber construction. At the company's own plus-energy factory, wall, ceiling and roof elements made of timber are produced on more than 55,000 m² of production floor space, complemented by an in-house joinery for solid wood staircases, entrance doors and built-in furniture as well as a metal shop for railings and sheet metal connections. On average, around 220 houses are built per year; more than 7,000 customer homes have been realized to date. In addition to single- and two-family houses, the portfolio encompasses multi-family and commercial building, basement construction, building services with heat pumps, ventilation and photovoltaics, as well as renovation of existing buildings. With around 420 employees, WEISS consolidates nearly all services from consulting through architecture, structural engineering and construction management to on-site assembly from a single source.
