About Fiberpipe

Fiberpipe GFK Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH develops, produces and sells components made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP), in particular chemical-resistant pipes and vessels for aggressive media. The core of production is a plant erected as part of the funded project "Fiberpipe Centrifugal Pipe Plant" (2015–2017) for the manufacture of GRP pipes in a closed centrifugal casting process with diameters of 80 to 300 mm according to DIN 16965 (UP-GF, glass-fibre reinforced polyester resins). Compared with conventional winding technology, the process exhibits lower emissions and significantly lower electricity and resin consumption. In addition to pipes, the company manufactures GRP vessels as well as pipework components and special parts. The products are mainly used in the chemical industry, in shipbuilding and in power plant construction as well as in water and wastewater treatment. The range of services includes consulting and on-site planning, design and adaptation, assembly and installation as well as training and support. Product testing is carried out by external material testing institutes.

Materials and Processes

UP-GF

UP-GF (glass-fibre reinforced polyester resins)

Pipe material according to DIN 16965 for chemical-resistant GRP pipes in the diameter range 80–300 mm.

GFK

GRP (glass-fibre reinforced plastic)

Material for vessels, pipework components and special parts with high corrosion resistance.

EP

Epoxy resin (two-component)

Resin system that is used considerably more efficiently in the closed centrifugal casting process than in the open winding process.

SG

Centrifugal casting (closed process)

Process with lower emissions, lower rotational speed, higher dosing temperature and significantly reduced electricity and resin consumption.
