About FibreCoat
FibreCoat GmbH develops and produces fibre-based composite materials based on coated filaments. The portfolio comprises metal-coated bi-component multifilament yarns with a basalt or glass core and a metallic sheath, as well as polymer-coated yarns (PolyCoat) with an E-glass core and polypropylene sheath for thermoplastic composites. Coating is applied at the filament level, combining functional properties such as thermal and electrical conductivity, EMI shielding and radiation protection with low weight and high strength. From metal-coated fibres, the company also manufactures chaff payloads (dipole reflectors) for aerial and UAV platforms. Fields of application include automotive, space, defence and construction/engineering. Based in Aachen, the company sees itself as a developer and producer of these materials with customisable material combinations according to customer requirements.
