About Fibryx
Fibryx is a manufacturer of series-production lightweight components made of natural fiber composite material (NFC) based in Neuhausen auf den Fildern near Stuttgart. Founded in 2025 as a spin-off of the University of Stuttgart, the company develops and manufactures large-area panel, visible and functional parts such as engine hoods, front skirts, roof modules, side panels and interior trim. The reinforcement consists of European industrial hemp and flax in the form of nonwovens, fabrics and UD layups; sandwich structures with PU cores are used to realize stiff, lightweight panels. Production is carried out using the company's own NFC wet-preg molding processes (prototype to a few hundred units per year) and NFC wet-preg compression molding, a wet pressing process between heated metal tool halves for a few hundred to several thousand units per year. The value chain ranges from part design and material and layup development through toolmaking to gelcoat, painting, inserts and delivery of assembly-ready components. Customers come from the commercial vehicle, caravan, bus, agricultural machinery, construction machinery, special vehicle, rail and trade fair construction sectors.

Materials & Processes
Natural fiber composite (natural fiber reinforced plastic)
Composite of plastic matrix and plant-based reinforcing fibers with lower density (approx. 1.3 g/cm³) and higher damping compared to GFRP.
Industrial hemp
Robust natural fiber with high specific stiffness from European cultivation, available as nonwoven, fabric or UD layup.
Flax (linen)
Fine fiber with good mechanical properties and surface quality from the European textile tradition.
PU core (sandwich structure)
Foam core for stiffness at low weight, used in large-area components such as roof shells.
Gelcoat / Topcoat
Surface layer for defined visible quality or painted finish.
NFC Wet-Preg Molding
Process with partially automated impregnation and a reusable temperature-controlled silicone vacuum hood for prototypes up to a few hundred units per year.
NFC Wet-Preg Compression Molding (wet pressing)
Pressing of the same laminate between heated metal tool halves for a few hundred to several thousand units per year with tight wall thickness tolerance.
