About the Fichtelberghütte
The Fichtelberghütte (historically also Fichtelbergbaude) is located on the Fichtelberg near Oberwiesenthal at an altitude of around 1.165 metres, directly on the ski piste and cross-country trails of the most important winter sports centre in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains). The operation comprises a restaurant with 50 seats and a terrace, single, double, family rooms and apartments each with private bathroom, a lounge, winter and summer camping pitches with electricity hookup, and a large car park with around 300 spaces. Additional offerings include events such as hut parties on Saturdays in winter, family and company celebrations, coach group catering by prior arrangement, as well as group programmes such as children's holiday camps and training camps, school and club trips and ski jumping courses. The hut is open all year round; in winter daily from 11 a.m. with hot meals served until 19 Uhr. After a fire in the night of 21.11.2009, which completely destroyed the building, it was fully rebuilt in 2012. The hut is run by Doreen and her sons.
