About FISCHER Fuel Cell Compressor AG
FISCHER Fuel Cell Compressor AG (FFCC), headquartered in Herzogenbuchsee (Canton of Bern), develops and manufactures electric turbo air compressors for hydrogen fuel cells. The company was founded in April 2020 and belongs to FISCHER Spindle Group AG, a Swiss family-owned precision technology company founded in 1939. The expertise is based on turbo compressor developments dating back to 2005. The compressors use patented spiral groove bearings (aerodynamic gas bearings), which operate without external air supply and without bearing cooling, enabling virtually wear-free and maintenance-free operation – tested with over 200'000 start/stop cycles and more than 10'000 operating hours. Manufacturing covers development, engineering and assembly of the compressors as well as customer-specific high-tech solutions and the establishment of a global series production operation. Customer industries include transit bus, truck, automotive, railway, aerospace, marine, stationary power supply, and material handling and logistics. FFCC employs around 30 people and is part of a group with around 400 employees at locations in Switzerland, Germany, USA, China and Taiwan.
