The Company
Fischer-Protec GmbH is a medium-sized, owner-managed family business based in Burgau (district of Günzburg, Bavaria), founded in 1974 by Karl Fischer. The company specializes in the processing of flexible and technical plastics, films and fabrics. From coated and uncoated fabrics, PVC and PE films as well as die-cuttable rigid plastics, fischer-protec manufactures among other things protective covers, protective housings, tarps, collection bags for garden and agricultural machinery, textile inlays, roll carts and reusable packaging, picking and logistics systems. The production processes include cutting and die-cutting, high-frequency and heat impulse welding, industrial sewing, screen printing, hot embossing as well as assembly work such as eyelet and press stud attachment. An in-house sample department develops custom customer solutions; production is not bound to minimum order quantities. The products are used in industries such as agriculture, food, care, advertising, automotive (vehicle interiors) as well as industry and trade. Around 25 employees produce on 1,200 sqm of production floor on a 5,000 sqm site in the Burgau industrial park.

Materials and Processes
High-frequency welding
Pressure welding process, mainly for PVC films and PVC-coated fabrics; heat is generated in the high-frequency field at the material surface.
Heat impulse process
Line-shaped heating elements weld PE films and PE-coated films under pressure to welding temperature.
Cutting
Round arc and guillotine knife machines cut knitted fabrics, woven fabrics and films to length and width dimensions including concave and convex shapes, possible in multiple layers.
Die-cutting
Carriage beam and swing-arm presses die-cut rigid and flexible materials as well as rigid plastics up to approx. 50 mm material thickness using steel-rule dies.
Screen printing
Automatic screen printing machine and manual system apply single- and multi-color logos, designations and labels to fabrics and films.
Hot embossing process
Alternative to screen printing for certain print sizes with a brilliant print result.
Industrial sewing
Sewing machines with triple feed, long-arm and post-bed designs process technical fabrics as well as thick and heavy materials.
Assembly
Automatic eyelet machines for eyelet sizes 6–50 mm, manual lever presses for slot eyelets and press studs as well as hot cut-off devices for belts and straps.
PVC film and PVC-coated fabric
Main material for the high-frequency welding process.
PE film and PE-coated film
Material for the heat impulse welding process.
Coated and uncoated fabrics
Base material for tarps, protective housings, collection bags and sewn items.
Rigid plastics (die-cuttable)
Rigid materials up to approx. 50 mm thickness for die-cutting tools.
