About Fit with Hit
Fit with Hit is a medical technology startup founded in 2022 in Gießen that develops AI-supported acoustic systems for orthopedics. The core solution analyzes in real time the implantation sounds of the endoprosthesis and hammer, alerts the surgical team in critical states, and documents the quality of hammer strikes during the anchoring of hip endoprostheses. The second product, OPtimus, is an ambient OR documentation system that captures speech and sounds in the operating room, automatically recognizes surgical phases, and generates structured, OPS-codable OR reports that can be transferred directly into the hospital information system. The systems are offered as Software as a Service, partly on-premise to account for sensitive patient data. Fit with Hit emerged from research and doctoral work at the Laboratory of Biomechanics of Justus Liebig University Gießen and is initially supported by JLU, UKGM, TransMIT and funding programs such as GO Bio initial. In 2025, the patent for hammer-strike monitoring was validated in 17 countries; a renaming as Auralis Medical is planned.
