About Thüringer Landstolz
Fleisch- und Wurstwaren Schmalkalden GmbH Thüringen (brand: Thüringer Landstolz) is a family-run meat processing company based at the Auehütte in Schmalkalden. The company was founded in 1990 through a management buy-out from the former Fleischkombinat Suhl and operates its own slaughterhouse, a processing plant with EU approval for slaughtering, cutting, minced meat and meat preparations, as well as a cold storage warehouse with 200 pallet spaces. It produces Thuringian specialities such as Rostbratwurst, Rotwurst, Leberwurst and Streichmett, mostly according to traditional recipes and partly artisanal, combined with modern production methods. With the branded meat programme Strohgut – Thüringer Strohschwein, the company sources pigs from Thuringian farmers kept in open-stall straw housing. The products are sold via around 29 of the company's own branches in southern Thuringia, the food retail sector, wholesale, gastronomy, an online shop with express delivery, vending machines as well as a platter and party service. The company employs around 350 staff.
