Florin AG is an independent Swiss family business in its third generation, headquartered in Muttenz near Basel. The company produces edible oils, fats, margarines and customised fat blends for the food industry, gastronomy and large-scale catering, as well as private label products for retail. The value chain covers the entire process: selection and gentle warm pressing of the seeds in the company's own oil mill, refining, hydrogenation, fractionation and interesterification of the crude oils, further processing in the margarine and fat factory, and filling into small and large containers. Storage takes place in oil tanks and a climate-controlled high-bay warehouse, with just-in-time delivery and a freshness guarantee. Further areas of application include the duty-suspension segment (salad dressings, mayonnaises), technical applications for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and animal feed production. 135 employees work at the Muttenz site; a subsidiary (Florin GmbH) exists in Lörrach, Germany. Procurement follows a GMO-free, traceable and sustainable supply chain with independent audits in the countries of origin.
