About Flügel CSS
Flügel CSS is a family-owned company founded in 1925 and based in Solingen, with over 100 years of experience in cutlery manufacturing. The company produces sharpening steels and knife sharpening systems in more than 5,000 model variants for professional and private use – as steel, diamond or ceramic sharpening steels in oval, round or square shapes, also as an OEM supplier for well-known brands in the cutlery industry. In addition, Flügel CSS manufactures series stamped parts, knife blanks and special blades for industries such as agriculture, textiles, paper and medical technology. A third pillar is contract heat treatment: in the protective-gas belt furnace hardening plant, stainless and air-hardening steels are hardened, including at low material thicknesses. The production processes include stamping, heat treatment, hard chrome plating and assembly; materials processed include alloyed tool steel (material no. 2210), stainless steels, diamond, tungsten carbide, full ceramic, chromium oxide, plastic and wood. Lot sizes range from small to large series, from individual production steps to complete manufacture. All company processes comply with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
