About Flux Polymers
Flux Polymers is a Mainz-based company offering a polymer coating it developed itself for the functionalization of surfaces. The UV coating is only about 10 nanometers thin, changes neither the appearance nor the feel of the surface, and is applied without hazardous chemicals such as VOCs, PFAS or biocides. It creates an antibacterial and easy-to-clean surface on which the adhesion of bacteria, biofilm and dirt such as oils and fats is reduced. The polymer is applied in solution by dip, spray or roll-to-roll coating and is subsequently chemically bonded to the surface by UV irradiation; apart from cleaning, no pretreatment is required. The technology works universally on plastics, composites, wood and painted surfaces – including common 3D-printing plastics such as PLA, ABS, PEEK, HIPS, PA, PET and PETG. Fields of application include, among others, sanitary fixtures, food/packaging, filters & membranes, life science & cell culture, household appliances, mechanical/plant engineering, additive manufacturing as well as medical devices.
