About FLUXANA
FLUXANA GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Bedburg-Hau on the Lower Rhine, is a supplier specialized in X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF). The company develops and manufactures sample preparation equipment for XRF, including electric and gas-powered fusion machines of the VITRIOX® series, automatic flux dosing machines (BORAMAT®), presses of the VANEOX® series (15–40 t) and grinding machines for metal samples (OES and XRF). The portfolio is complemented by XRF glassware, sample cups and films, self-produced certified reference materials, calibration sets, drift monitor sets and the FLUXearch® database with over 26,000 standards. The accredited laboratory offers commercial XRF analysis, proficiency tests and application development; training courses and e-learning (FLUXaminar) complete the offering. Industries served include cement, ceramics, geology, mining, metals, glass, chemicals, petrochemicals, environment and battery recycling. Equipment production takes place in Bedburg-Hau, while XRF specialty glassware is produced in the company's own plant in Ilmenau, Thuringia.

Materials & Processes
Lithium metaborate
Flux for lithium borate fusion of powder samples into glass beads for XRF.
Lithium tetraborate
Flux for lithium borate fusion of powder samples into glass beads for XRF.
Lithium bromide
Non-wetting additive to prevent crystallization and glass breakage during fusion.
Lithium iodide
Non-wetting additive to prevent crystallization and glass breakage during fusion.
BOREOX®
Harmless organic binder as a substitute for boric acid, in particular as backing material for pressed pellets.
CEREOX® (Licowax C)
Wax binder that, mixed with the sample, yields stable pressed pellets for XRF.
CELLEOX® (cellulose powder)
Cellulose binder used mainly as a grinding aid and for absorbing liquids.
Platinum/gold alloy
Material for crucibles and casting dishes that withstand the melt during fusion.
Aluminium
Alu cups for stabilizing the sample during pressing, for labelling and autosampler feeding.
FLUXinert® ceramic
Flux-resistant ceramic material that minimizes corrosion and wear in fusion machines.
