About foacas AG
foacas AG, headquartered in Hergiswil (Switzerland), has been active since 2008 as a supplier of castings of all kinds and organises cost-effective, global sourcing of cast products for its customers. The offering covers the casting processes investment casting (lost-wax process), die casting, sand casting, gravity die casting and low-pressure casting as well as plastic injection moulding, MIM (Metal Injection Moulding), sintered NdFeB permanent magnets, stamped and pressed parts and machining. Materials processed include steel, chromium-containing stainless steels, aluminium, brass, bronze, zinc, magnesium, silicon tombak and thermoplastic plastics. In addition, foacas offers engineering and rapid prototyping (3D sand printing for casting moulds, ABS models), surface treatments such as galvanising, anodising, passivation, powder coating and polishing, as well as supply chain management with warehousing in Switzerland. The delivered parts are used, among other things, in sanitary installations and water treatment, the construction industry, the automotive and railway industries, the furniture industry, drive technology, mechanical and plant engineering and the food industry. Manufacturing takes place in an international supplier network, the majority certified to ISO 9001; foacas visits the manufacturing plants on site several times a year.

Materials and Processes
Investment casting (lost-wax process)
Single parts up to large volumes with tight tolerances and high surface quality; materials ranging from light metals through iron and steel to superalloys.
Die casting
Cost-effective large-series production of filigree, complex geometries in aluminium, zinc and magnesium alloys as well as silicon tombak.
Sand casting
Flexible process for prototypes, single parts and series with dimensional accuracy of 2% to 5% depending on part size.
Gravity die casting
Cost-effective production of medium to large series in aluminium alloys with smooth surfaces.
Low-pressure casting process
Low-porosity, dense aluminium castings with complex internal geometries and low tooling costs.
MIM - Metal Injection Moulding
Powder metallurgical process for small, complex metal parts from the supplier network.
NdFeB permanent magnets (sintered)
Powder-metallurgically produced neodymium magnets with the highest energy density, corrosion- and temperature-resistant.
Plastic injection moulding
Thermoplastic moulded parts from a few grams to several hundred grams unit weight, including ODM injection mould tooling.
Rapid prototyping (3D sand printing and 3D printing)
3D-printed sand casting moulds and robust ABS functional models for functional tests, assembly and field trials.
Surface treatment
Galvanising, pickling, anodising, passivation, powder coating, polishing and mirror polishing; electroplated nickel and chrome plating.
Heat treatment
Ageing, tempering and hardening of castings to expand their fields of application.
Stamped and pressed parts
Formed parts produced within the supplier network.
